Does Little Skippy Like Peanut Butter?

Your pups like treats but you don't care for making them? Think that it takes too much time? Yes, our lives can be very hectic at times but our dogs give us so much in return. Plus there are only FOUR ingredients in this recipe! And you know the quality of the products used!

Yes. I am trying to make you feel a bit guilty. Like the guilt I feel when I try offer our pups a store bought treat and they look at me like I have snakes for hair.
what. Your dogs don't give you looks from time to time? Sure they do. Just make some of these yummy treats for them and at a later time try offering them some store bought stuff.
You'll get a look. Promise.

Making them a special treat can be quick and easy with this 4 ingredient recipe:

What you Need:
2 cups whole wheat flour (if your dog is sensitive to wheat you can use another type of flour like almond or coconut)
1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup peanut butter, chunky or smooth 1 1/4 cups hot water
Additional flour for rolling
See? Just 4 items

What you Do:
Preheat oven to 350° F Mix dry ingredients together
Mix in the peanut butter and hot water. You may need to add more flour if the dough is too sticky
Knead the dough well
Roll out the dough into 1/4" thickness and cut into shapes with dog cookie cutters or just make round cookies (your pup won't care about the shape trust me)
Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 40 minutes. Turn off the oven and let them cool overnight (so they get nice and hard). If your mutt can't wait to mooch one, just wait until they have cooled all the way through (use a wire rack to cool - for hot under the collar hounds)

Store Them:
This dog cookie recipe makes cookies that will last in a sealed air tight container at room temperature for one week. You can store them in the refrigerator for 3 weeks and in the freezer for up to 6 months
