Healthy Homemade Dog Treats

Bijoux waits patiently while the biscuits bake

Treat your furbaby to a tasty & healthy biscuit.
I started making treats a few years ago & have acquired quite a few recipes. Not only are they inexpensive to make, I have to admit I enjoy taking a few moments to make something special for our pups. They give us so much love. Here is a "cookie" recipe that all 5 of our crew love...

Orange Treats
1 3/4 cups unbleached white flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup pure honey
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons pure vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
1/4 cup sesame seeds
2 tablespoons grated orange rind
1) Preheat the oven to 375°F.  In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients & mix well
2) On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until it's firm
3) Roll the dough to a 1/2 thickness.  Cut with a cookie cutter of your choice.  Transfer the cookies to a baking sheet
4) Bake for 13 minutes.  Turn off the heat & let the cookies stand in the oven until hard, about 1 to 2 hours.

That's all there is to it! See? I told you it's easy. Go ahead & make some. Your pup will love you even more!
