Colds, Pet Soup & Pink Sapphires

Isn't it funny how furbabies can always tell when you're not feeling well?
For the past week and a half I've been super sick and Leeroy and Fatty have been doing their best to help their mama!

Of course, the lack of opposable thumbs have made it difficult for activities like making me soup or helping clean up around the house.

However, Fatty did try to help me eat my soup!

And Leeroy did pick his toys up off the floor...unfortunately he decided that they belonged on my bed! But seriously, there's something therapeutic about cuddling up with your pets after having a bad day.

There is research showing that pet ownership can reduce stress-induced symptoms, add years to your life, and even just the simplicity of petting a dog has been shown to lower blood pressure. Want to know more about the therapeutic benefits of pet ownership? Check it out here.

It is also said (by some pink bloggers perhaps?) that Pink can be therapeutic...in the form of Sapphires. Well, I can certainly see their point *wink wink*. I would feel very HAPPY to have pink sapphires [[honey!!]]. According to Gemisphere.com: "Pink Sapphire brings greater ease, strength, structure, and freedom to your emotional life. The Pink Sapphire helps ease emotional burdens and pain while relieving the sense of being pressured by life’s demands. Pink Sapphire awakens your emotional intelligence, fostering a strong sense of emotional identity and helping you connect with your heart’s true desires." I'm on board!!

Merci to Beverly for hosting such a grand fĂȘte! Be sure to visit her blog along with all the other PINK participants. Leave comments....we love'em!!

  3. Our pets definitely know when we're not feeling well. My little sortof rescue sheltie is an empath! She comes and lays her head on me in a certain way when I'm not feeling good. And of course if she brought me some pink sapphires it would be even better! xoxo Nancy

  28. Happy Pink Saturday, Nikki. Just look at you getting the first link spot. You were fast.

I miss having a pet, but I guess I have to accept it for now.

But, I do believe a pink sapphire would console me.♥
