Happy PINK 4th of July

I'll be honest. This was a tough blog to write. For a patriotic girl like me, there are so many things to talk about. Sorting through pictures I came across many topics: Yummy 4th of July desserts, explosive firework shows, our amazing men & women in uniform (including my daughter & son-in-law *smile*) and local parades ( I always cry at these... a-l-w-a-y-s).

As I poured over pictures & ideas...I came across a picture I took in D.C.
I realized what mattered.
Seeing the Washington Monument reminds me of our countries tough & courageous beginnings. The flag, in the foreground, reminds me of who we became. States. United. I've traveled to other countries & fell in love with each in their own way. But coming home always makes me recall that I'm proud to be an American Girl.

I can't wait to see the jubilant fireworks show, eat more than my share of desserts, call & wish my daughter & son-in-law a Happy 4th and proudly go to a local parade...and cry.
Happy 4th of July
